ACIM Lesson 57: Review of Lessons 31-35
Review of Lessons 31-35
Idea 31: I am not the victim of the world I see.
Seeing myself as being at the whims of the world (stuck in data) is effectively keeping me in prison. But the great news is, the door is open and I can walk out whenever I want! I no longer wish to stay and I will clean my way out into the light.
“I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
Idea 32: I have invented the world I see.
My prison is invented. How could I, as a Son of God, be kept in chains unless for some insane reason I choose it! In reality I am free and always have been and today I will clean on that realisation.
“I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
Idea 33: There is another way of looking at the world.
I am completely confused about the purpose of the world. To the human sense it is a place of trial and error, danger, fear and, if I’m lucky, occasional kindness. This, however, is not the purpose of the world. Its true purpose is to set me free. I will begin to clean my way to freedom.
“I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
Idea 34: I could see peace instead of this.
In viewing the world as a place of freedom I can come to fully understand that peace abides within it and within all the hearts of those who are here with me – currently about 8 billion people. That’s a lot of peace! I’m sorry for whatever it is in me that ever thought this was a place of pain.
“I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
Idea 35: My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.
I will keep asking for forgiveness and I will be ready to forgive. ‘Ihaleakalā would sometimes quote The Platters and say “Only you can make this world seem right…”. Only you. It’s up to each of us to do the cleaning if Inspiration guides us to take 100% responsibility and I take up the challenge today! In doing so, the Course tells me that “I begin to understand the holiness of all living things, including myself, and their oneness with me.” I will clean myself back to void, back to one with everything. We are all joined in ways I cannot comprehend but God knows the Truth and can make the world seem right and bright for each of us.
“I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
