An interesting way of perceiving the world in today’s Lesson, but one so blindingly obvious!

I have given names to everything: a pen, a house, a car, the people around me. And all this does is highlight our separateness.

The names I give each ‘thing’ assume a set of attributes which may or may not be correct.

Even worse, when I call someone by his name, I am identifying with him as a separate being and in responding, he also claims that this is so! The both of us are lost. Time to clean!

And yet, as the Course says, there is only one of us here.

‘Ihaleakalā illustrated this perfectly with his diagram of the self and the fact that all minds are ultimately connected to the Divinity. You can find the drawing in his ‘Who’s in Charge’ article.

And in Ho’oponopono, everything is alive. Even a pen. So you have a relationship with a pen as much as another person and your I-dentities are joined.

And how much more does God love you than a pen! His Name is truly our inheritance.

When the data tricks me into believing otherwise, I will remember the key words of Ho’oponopono:

I love you. I’m sorry. Forgive me. Thank you.

… and clean my way back to who I truly am, remembering I am in perfect relationship with everything here.

“The Name of God is my inheritance. I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, Thank you.”
