13. What is a miracle?

What Is a Miracle?

According to the Course: “A miracle is a correction.”

It is only my thoughts that can bother me. The miracle changes my perception from fear to love. It undoes my errors. It sees the pain of the world and tells my mind that pain is false.

And it is by inverting my perception from pain to love that forgiveness can be seen as justified. If I see pain, it is up to me to clean on it and take 100% responsibility. That’s it!

Forgiveness, says the Course, ‘… is the home of miracles’. For in asking for and offering forgiveness, I am able to return to the Zero State and see once again with the eyes of Divinity, to speak as Divinity speaks and act as Divinity acts. And each time I clean and forgive is a ‘silent miracle of love’ offered to the world.

I can look out on the state of the world and be appalled, but if I am unwilling to clean for any reason, I am condemning it to hell. Why would I do that?

I have faith that through the cleaning the miracle will be able to come forth and I will begin to see a world redeemed from what I thought it was. And given the current chaos that is beamed into my life every day, I need this miracle more than ever!

As I clean and ask forgiveness for my incorrect perceptions, Heaven sends its healing rain to restore life to this barren place. And as those shoots of life spring up I will remember that, as the Course tells me ‘… what is born can never die, for what has life has immortality.’

“A miracle is a correction. I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
