ACIM Lesson 11

My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.

The theme of today’s idea is that it’s my thoughts that determine what kind of world I see. If I have compassionate thoughts I will see a pleasant, positive world. If I have worrying thoughts I’ll see a negative world. Either way, ACIM is pointing me towards a world of illusion. If all I see are my thoughts – ‘good’ or ‘bad’ – what reality can there be?

I recently received a ‘Note from the Universe’ that told me I:

“… live in a world of illusions. A world that springs from a much deeper and far greater reality. And while at times the illusions are indeed ugly, with your physical senses you only see the tip of the iceberg. If you could see the whole, you’d discover that the unpleasantness was only the tiniest piece of a most spectacular puzzle that was created with order, intelligence, and absolute love. You’d see that contrary to appearances, in the grandest scheme of things, nothing is ever lost, no one becomes less, and setbacks are always temporary. And you’d understand that no matter what has happened, everyone lives again, everyone laughs again, and everyone loves again, even more richly than before.”

I can get the idea that if the world is merely an illusion, it must be meaningless. Although it has to be said, it’s a very fine illusion that has us all hooked!

I need to remember the findings of Lesson 4, that I really have no idea about everything that’s going on. I can’t see below the surface. The few bits of information that I can process each second is essentially meaningless when I consider the millions of bits that I can’t.

There is just way too much going on ‘under cover’ for me to comprehend the full potential in each moment. I need to learn to trust the process.

If the world as I see it is meaningless, how can I possibly know what would be right for me next week, next year or even just this afternoon?

I will keep today’s idea in mind as my gaze alights on one thing or another, one person or another. And as I casually look at each one I will confirm that ‘my meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world’ and repeat to it the key words of Ho’oponopono:

I love you

I’m sorry

Please Forgive Me

Thank You
