ACIM Lesson 23

I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts.

According to ACIM, this is the only way to achieve happiness and peace of mind.

This Lesson makes clear that there is no point trying to change the world – the effects I see.

The only logical thing to do is to change my thoughts about it – the cause. If I can do that, the world I see will change automatically!

So, the way to do this is for me to put aside thoughts of attacking or being attacked. Perhaps I am judgemental of someone. That is an attack thought. Perhaps someone is criticising me – I feel attacked.

Ultimately, these are both the same.

So it is up to me to take full responsibility for the thoughts I entertain. On this, ACIM and Ho’oponopono are in complete alignment.

How can my ‘judgement’ be 100% correct if millions and millions of bits of information are surrounding me at any moment and my consciousness can only process about 40?

It can’t! I am deluding myself if I think I have the complete picture.

Time then, to step back and remember that if I want to see change in the world, I have to be responsible.

All I have to do is identify the cause that is causing any form of discomfort in my world and then let it go.

In Ho’oponopono this is ‘letting go and letting God.’

So I will spend some time identifying attack thoughts and say to each one:

“I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts about __________ ”

… whether I am the attacker or the attacked.

And then I will repeat to each one the key words of Ho’oponopono:

I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, I’m grateful.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Amen.

“I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts. I love you, I’m sorry, Forgive me, I’m grateful.”
