Three Ways to… Revolutionise Your Money Mindset with Ho’oponopono!

Money mindset is everything.

As a man thinks, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

And so, you absolutely have to get this right otherwise your finances will consistently be difficult to keep under control.

It’s nothing personal. Your current financial situation is merely a reflection of your thinking about money to date.

If everything is just as you’d like it, by all means stop reading now.

But if things could do with a little improvement, read on!

1. How to… create unlimited income and escape the ‘good job’ trap

When I was growing up there was something called a ‘job for life’.

People would work their entire 40-odd-year career at the same company, gradually rising through the ranks like a bubble ascending to the surface in a glass of champagne and then retire. To mark the end of a glittering career they’d be given a carriage clock and then escorted off the premises.

Great days!

But… were they?

The problem with a ‘job for life’ or even just a job for next week, is that you are merely trading time for money.

You work a 40 hour week – or whatever it is – and every month you get a pay cheque to reimburse you for the 160 hours you gave to the company.

Is that really the best use of 160 hours every month?

And is the reimbursement truly an honest reflection of the effort you put in?

And could you earn the equivalent of that pay cheque working fewer hours… even doing something you absolutely love and would do for free if you didn’t have to make the rent?

The good news is: Yes. You can.

But you need to rethink how you think about work.

Don’t be fooled by job ‘security’. It doesn’t exist. And it’s merely a trap to keep you mired to the grindstone so someone else can benefit from your hard work.

The only way to become wealthy – if that’s what you want to do – is to have a ‘job’ with no limit on your income.

How?

By developing a full or part time business of your own where no-one else has the power to limit what you earn.

Many people start out on the path to freedom by freelancing. They take up freelance writing, graphic design or whatever. And if you’re currently working a job, then something flexible that can be done around other commitments – an hour here and an hour there – is key.

But, the fact is, you get to decide what you do, you set the hours… and you set the income!

The idea is to start something that will pay the bills and give you full autonomy. You can pivot to something else later. Right now, just get started on the journey!

So forget about the advice to ‘get a good job’ and then ‘save for retirement’… unless the person advising you to get a good job is referring to starting your own business.

And as for saving for retirement? That’s a big ask when there’s a cap on your income and you’re living pay-cheque to pay-cheque.

It’s far better to allow Divine Inspiration to guide you to perfect work you love that will pay you exceptionally well.

How do you do that?

Firstly, love whatever your current work situation is. It’s keeping a roof over your head and some food on the table. But it’s now time, if you’re serious about growing your wealth, to branch out.

And the safest way to do that is to let Divinity take over. Let go and let God!

Meditate or think about what you would like to do as a freelance opportunity. Your heart and feelings will pull you in a suitable direction.

It’ll feel good, like joy and ease.

And as you hold that picture in your mind, love it to death!

You let go and let God by loving everything. So love your current job and the picture of the career you’d like to transition into.

As you do so, just keep repeating the key cleaning words of Ho’oponopono:

“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

… or just ‘I love you’ or ‘thank you’ on a constant tape loop in your mind. That’s ‘Ho’oponopono 101’. Divinity will act in your best interests and support you if you’ll just give Divinity a chance to do so!

Your willingness, as it says in A Course in Miracles, is everything.

Just try it. It costs nothing and it’s not going to make things any worse.

And let’s face it, if you’re doing what you love, you need never retire… and you’ll earn enough to comfortably save for retirement if you choose to do so!

So, what have you got to lose? Give Divinity a chance to show you what She can do!

2. How to… stop ‘Groundhog Day’ affecting your finances

I’m sure you’ve seen the movie ‘Groundhog Day’.

Protagonist Phil Connors is forced to relive the same day thousands and thousands of times.

And like Phil, many of us find ourselves reliving the same financial situations over and over.

Is this true for you? (I have my hand up!)

The good news is that, like Phil, we can stop seeing the repeats as a ‘curse’ and instead embrace them and work them to our advantage.

While Phil endured thousands of time loops and we experience financial loops.

For example, you might be in a constant cycle of debt. You manage to pay off one credit card – hurrah! – and then… BOOM. A financial calamity ‘conveniently’ strikes and you’re right back to square one.

As we discussed in point 1, maybe you’d like to start your own business and even tentatively started something but… BOOM. You keep getting sucked back to the ‘safety’ of a j-o-b because you can’t get the business up and running and earning money fast enough to break free from the j-o-b’s gravitational pull.

There is nothing ‘wrong’ with the loops if we can start to notice the trends and observe ourselves moving through the cycle.

Because as soon as we notice what’s going on, we can make a decision right in that moment to do something tangible about it.

We can say – with conviction – “No more!

In Point 1 we allowed Divinity to guide us towards the best business for us.

In this Point we’re going to allow Divinity to help us break the Groundhog Day cycle and start creating some beneficial financial loops that will fully support our future.

How do you do that?

Well, as soon as you notice a financial loop, simply notice it and allow it to be. Notice how you feel. Whether there is any tensing in the body, or a feeling of upset or foreboding or fear.

Now, here’s the big secret: a financial loop is caused by a memory replaying in the subconscious. (In Ho’oponopono all problems are caused by a memory replaying. We’re just focusing on financial issues in this blog).

As the memory replays, you keep replaying the same loops over and over again!

You have no other choice!

So while it’s not your fault that the memories and the associated loops are there – after all, how can you possibly know where you picked them up? – it is now within your power to take responsibility for them and clean up the mess with Ho’oponopono!

Maybe when Phil noticed his loops when he was in Punxsutawney he started cleaning. We’ll never know. But somehow he was able to notice what was going on and start adjusting different aspects of his 2 February experience to his advantage. Eventually he was able to break free!

And so can we.

To take responsibility, simply start cleaning with Ho’oponopono:

“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

Divinity will do the rest. You don’t need to know which memories need to be transmuted to free you from the loops, but Divinity does.

Thank God!

So relax and get ready to leave your version of Punxsutawney for good!

If you think this is too simplistic, why do you think Divinity would deliberately make it difficult if you’re loved unconditionally?

Just get to the cleaning!

3. How to… give up your money excuses

For this final ‘How to…’ I think it’s time for a little coaching.

Be prepared to take some notes! And take your time with this process. There’s no need to rush it.

I’d like you to name a specific situation where you make an excuse regarding money, whether in relationships, career or business, or, with money directly.

Don’t overthink it. Just run with whatever comes to mind first.

Make a note of it.

Now, tell me, what if this excuse were to disappear and you couldn’t use it anymore?

Write down what you would need to let go of.

The reason you have financial loops is because at some level they serve you.

Perhaps they offer an excuse to procrastinate so you keep putting off starting your own business.

You know that ultimately you will never become financially independent by merely trading hours of your precious life for money for 40 years.

But perhaps the ‘safety’ of that monthly pay cheque is enough to keep you in the ‘good job’ trap?

It’s worth remembering, of course, that nothing is guaranteed and the company that hired you five years ago could just as easily make your post redundant tomorrow. That’s just how it is.

And with the economy as it is, is it really a good idea to trust your income to one source, to put your pay options in one basket, so to speak?

Might it be a better idea to take full responsibility for your income and control how much you can earn?

So tell me, what would you be valuing about yourself in letting go of your excuse?

Make a few notes on that, think about how you would ideally like to show up in the world and live your truth.

I’m assuming that your vision of your ideal life is somewhat different to the current reality. But that’s ok. That’s what this work is all about.

We can’t make a change unless we notice the loops that are keeping us stuck, take a deep breath and decide to change them!

And with that sacred contract to yourself in place, I’d like you to identify one – just one – action you can take today that is in service of your new decision.

What do you feel inspired to do?

And now – you’ve guessed it! – TAKE THAT ACTION!

But how do I know if it’s the right action to take?” you may be asking.

Well, clean on it!

As you think about the action that’s appeared in your mind, repeat the key words of Ho’oponopono:

“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

ˋIhaleakalā said he would clean three times on any decision and if the answer was still positive, he’d do it.

Experiment with this yourself. This is how you learn to trust your inspiration! And what is inspiration but Divinity trying to connect with you?

So go for it and consider how that action will support your new decision.

How will it impact your relationships / business or career / your money?

Don’t waste another moment. Clean, take action and get going! And repeat this process with as many excuses as possible.

Conclusions

So, there you have it, three ways revolutionise your financial life with Ho’oponopono:

  1. Decide to create unlimited income and escape the ‘good job’ trap
  2. Break free of ‘Groundhog Day’ financial loops
  3. Give up your money excuses once and for all

Can you feel the lightness of it, the expansion of it and the possibilities?

This is YOUR life. Time to start living it on your terms!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
